Below the archived prints known to exist, (from auctions, catalogues, collections etc…). Copies of her prints are rare and only show up occasionally. The parrots was seen just twice in 15 years (by me), one in Australia the other one in an October 2023 online auction together with the spectacular kingfishers. Which was only known (to me) as black and white catalogue illustration.
Ammer, Lina (Karoline) (Landau an der Isar 16-08-1871 – 01-05-1935 Regensburg)
Painter (mainly watercolour), printmaker and teacher. Daughter of “Königliche Oberzollrat in Landau”Johann Nepomuck Ammer and N.N. Handl (daughter of “Fürstlichen Rentkammersdirektors of St. Emmeram” Handl.
(1876) “Der geprüfte Rechtspraktikant in Landaua. J. ist zum Advokaten, mit Anweisung seines Wohnsitzes in Memmingen, ernannt”.
The family moved from Landau to Regensburg after her father died in 1877. She attended at the age of 7 the “Werktags und Töchterschule der armen Schulschwestern” in Regensburg. Studied at Regensburg Höheren Mädchenlyzeum (Oberschule am Peterstor) für Zeichen und Turnunterricht” qualifying 1903.
Student at the “Königliche Kunstgewerbeschule” in Munich 1887-1891 under Heinrich Stelzner (1833-1910), Theodor Spieß* (1846-1922), Robert Ulke* (1850-1913), Anton Azbé (1862-1905), Bernard Buttersack (1858-1925) and Guido Josef Kern (1878-1953), graduating in 1891 (“Zeichenlehrerinnenexamen”) and studying further under Theodor Spieß (1846-1920), Robert Ulke (1831-1910) and Heinrich Stelzner*.
