“Erinnerung” (ed. 7/50)

Reclining woman in a temple.

Amélie Breling was also a sculptor and ceramist and had been a student of Aristide Maillol in Paris. She became sister-in-law of Otto Modersohn. Another woodblock print by her (a dancing woman) is kept in the collections of “Kumstverein Fisherhude”. Her reclining lady betrayed the influence of  Matisse and is very reminding of almost similar paintings by Matisse.
