Eleonore Doelter was not only one of the “oldest” (born in 1855) artists to give her heart to printmaking she also became one of the most prolific. In sharp contrast with the quantity of examples by her hand is the availability: they are quite rare and hard to find. It was this collections objection to represent as many artist by as many affordable prints: not to “have them all”. This large example, obviously created after visiting the Netherlands, was a wonderful way to represent her. Although many prints by her hand have a rather crude and simple appearance, her Adriatic ship prints are wonderful examples and this landscape is almost as good as a print Martha Kunz.

Dear print lover, passing-by visitor and reader:
While this new gallery-museum site is under construction (being build-up, stocked and arranged) priority must be given to first add all the represented artists in the index with works from the collection and if possible with the examples from the archives.
During construction the site is open to visitors, questions, feedback and suggestions.
Gerrie
