Engelke, Lisa (? – after 1930)
Painter and printmaker. Known from one woodblock print surfacing in German eBay jan. 2019. She is mentioned in Leipzig Bugra 1914 but unable to find in the index or address list.

Engelke, Gerrit (Hannover 21-10-1890 – 13-10-1918 Cambrai, Fr.)
Painter and poet and warpoet. Son of a Hannover “Weiswarenhändler” who immigrated 1904 to Amerika followed by his wife and daughter in 1910. Studied at Hannover Kuntsgewerbeschule. In 1913 he met Richard Dehmel (1863-1920). He is compared with and considered the German equivalent of British war poet Wilfred Owen (1893-1918) describing the horrors of War. Like Owen he was killed only weeks before the War ended.
Engelke, Martin (Tilsit,Ost-Preussen 22-06-1852 – 27-01-1932 Dresden)
Sculptor. Studied 1873-1878 at Dresden “Kunstakademie” under Johannes Schilling (1828-1910) and Vienna “Akademie der Bildende Künste. Lived and worked in Blasewitz and Loschwitz near Dresden and created several monumental sculptures in and around Dresden.
