Temporary and random placement of the pictures from my archive. Saved from auction catalogues etc.. and by no means “complete”. Although she was an awarded, admired respected and acknowledged graphic artist, to this day no serious research into her life and works has been undertaken. Her direct family is still unknown. Erna Frank is not known as a printmaker (she was an etcher, using a press). Her prints, when found affordable, have proven to be irresistible. Her technique has been compared with James McNeill-Whistler. She took part and was awarded in the original 1914 BUGRA: she could not be missed in this collection and display.
(I would very like to find more affordable works by Erna Frank for this collection)
Dear print lover, passing-by visitor and reader:
While this new gallery-museum site is under construction (being build-up, stocked and arranged) priority must be given to first add all the represented artists in the index with works from the collection and if possible with the examples from the archives.
During construction the site is open to visitors, questions, feedback and suggestions.
Read more about the artists, their lives, families and careers in the new and extensive Artist Lexicon: “DAS HAUS DER FRAU, the short biographies” accompanying this exhibition.
Hundreds of new artist biographies, a private publication in 2 Volumes written conveniently in English.
