Jewish artist living and working in Berlin. Best known for his “Heimat” (native) Polish Tatra mountain region alpine winter prints. He studied in Paris and Vienna and also visited the Netherlands (above: Loosdrecht) while his Berlin studio and home were a cultural and artistic meeting place. He fled Nazi persecution to Lemberg (Lwow, Lviv) in Ukraine but was murdered in 1942.
