Hilda May Gordon  (1874 - 1972)

“African impressions”

Serie of 3 prints created after her travel impressions in Africa: she was born in South-Africa but grew up in England where she also studied. Impressions (mostly unsigned) surface in different colour variations. Some years ago a studio or left over folio was auctioned with several of  these sheets, single copies re-surfacing every now and then. Although she was a student of Frank Brangwyn her prints show the influence of Arthur Wesley Dow.
