Albert Hahn was besides a well known and fervent socialist an influential illustrator and political drawer/cartoonist. 

These 12 “types” were published as tipped in lithographic prints in 1908 by publisher Simon Leonard van Looy (1854-1922). Although his work was immensely popular this set of caricature  prints is rarely seen offered in auctions. He followed William Nicholson’s example in England. 

(Sadly the chimney sweeper is missing in this set, but it was not a reason to leave behind as a flea market find otherwise in fine condition …… 


Do I recognise Max Liebermann in Zandvoort and Oscar Wilde as classic philosopher ?
