The last example is in this collection is a large lithographic print by Hedwig Matthiessen. The nymph with a veil in a typical north German moor landscape (very much like Worpswede and Dachau) is a typical wish-list print. Until recently Hedwig Matthiessen was an obscured printmaker, while her signature often is described as “unleserlich” (illegible) by most German auctioneers (and private sellers).
