Doris McCowen (her signature sometimes is read as Doris McEwen) is a still unidentified British printmaker who is mentioned as exhibitor at London’s Royal Academy and living as a painter (Miss) in London “Trafalgar at the Admiralty” a well known pub, possibly with private living apartments in the upper floors.
She obviously visited Italy: Sienna, Tuscany, Lenno at Lake Como and the Alps but also France (above)
