Helene Merz  (1890 - 1870)

The fishing boats-harbour scene location is still unknown but the last two examples are of the city of Passau at the confluence of rivers Donau and Inn at the Austrian border.  She is represented because she was a student of Martha Schrag and I jus happen to like her crude and “simple” drawings with the etching needle directly onto the etching plate, which leaves no room for mistakes and a good, confident sketching and drawing hand

Helene Merz is not known to have create woodblock prints but is known as a painter and an etcher.
