One of the very first pioneering woodblock printmaker even before 1902, the year she officially married Hamburg Kunstgewerbeschule founder Justus Brinckmann. Her Hamburg “Alstert Schwänewick” is an icon of early printmaking. The setting sun reminding of Monets painting. After marrying she lay down her printmaking activities to serve her husband career but after his death she picked it up. Her daughter Stephanie (Steffi) also known as Gingo Albrecht-Brinckmann also became a painter printmaker and in 2022 she was also represented in this collection.
