Recently (2023) this rare Vienna printmaker (her prints only seldomly show up in auctions), was represented with one of the most exceptional and finest prints in this collection. It was acquired with the friendly help of collecting friend, connoisseur and collector Tom Clemens in Boston. It is very different from her best known and much sought after alpine prints.

It shows Florence’ iconic river front most probably after a visit to Italy in 1952.  She is known as a printmaker by less than a dozen examples. Her rare alpine prints closely resemble examples by printmakers Helene Ladstätter and Valerie Czepalcka.

The second example, a large winter landscape was found in England. It has characteristic signs of age and ware ….  Since Valerie is fine of the most sought after printmakers, with specific collectors: The choice was simple: accept the condition or no print at all. This was the second copy I ever saw And the first ever offered.
