Granny’s  slippers and sowing basket (sw. mormors tøfler med sykorg) 

Even with the help of the translated Swedish writing on the back, obviously by the previous owners and a local newspaper clipping the printmaker was directly not identifiable. But with some perseverance Dutch born and Otto Pankok student and well known Düsseldorf painter, sculptor and printmaker Peter Royen was identified. Writing his short biography it was nowhere mentioned he also exhibited 1961 in Sweden Bergagård, Danderyd just North of Stockholm which has (or had) a small (graphics) exhibition facility ……. Here the 1959 print was sold. 

Althbough outside the mainframe of this collection (German women printmakers born 1850-1900 this print was just too nice not to acquire when the opportunity was there.
