“Die Kinder und die Tiere”
One of the many titles by her hand is bound in the Japanese way and holds 21 hand coloured woodblock prints illustrating 21 poems. This copy is of the second, 1954 edition.
It is dedicated to Franciscan “Pater Edelbert Kurz (1886-1969) dem Sohn des heiligen Franz und Freund der Kinder”.
He was a priest, theologist and philosopher and “Taubstummenseelsorger der Erzdiözese München und Freising”. Obviously he had been of great influence to Ruth Schaumann who became deaf at the age of 4 because of a scarlet-fever infection and lost her father when she was 17.

Dear print lover, passing-by visitor and reader:
While this new gallery-museum site is under construction (being build-up, stocked and arranged) priority must be given to first add all the represented artists in the index with works from the collection and if possible with the examples from the archives.
During construction the site is open to visitors, questions, feedback and suggestions.
Gerrie
