“Altona, Königstrasse ”
A wonderful drawing (etching) of this iconic Hamburg-Altona street. He saw and etched the world before Operation Gomorrah destroyed most of Hamburg in 1944. The print was found in 2022, while it is all happening again: in Ukraine, Mariupol, Odessa.
Ernst Vollbrecht is a forgotten Hamburg artist. Although not many of his graphic works by his hand are delivered to us, because Operation Gomorrah destroyed his house, studio and most of his works, I was to meet him, again, at Blankenese-strand.
This example of his graphic-etching skills are strongly reminding of the city-views by my favourite etcher: Erna Frank.

Dear print lover, passing-by visitor and reader:
While this new gallery-museum site is under construction (being build-up, stocked and arranged) priority must be given to first add all the represented artists in the index with works from the collection and if possible with the examples from the archives.
During construction the site is open to visitors, questions, feedback and suggestions.
