Souwtje de Wijn  (1888  - 1969)

“Het Steenen Hoofd 1931” as Texel harbour is locally known. 

Large format  “Asphalt litho” created with Seenefelder’s Bitumen lithographic and aquatint medium.

She signed most of her work “Zwanenborg” after her mothers family name because her father a local (ships) carpenter had never been very supportive to her artistic ambitions.

Most of her work was created at the island of Texel before the 1950s “Ruilverkaveling” erased centuries old landscaping by inherited partition of fields and lands. A choice:
